Florida High School Football Game Comes to Abrupt End After Gunshots Heard Nearby

A scary scene sends players and referees fleeing for cover.

On Friday, a Florida high school football game between Miami Central and the school Rick Ross played for, Carol City, came to an abrupt end when gunshots were heard nearby.

Officials were seen fleeing once shots were fired. 

Initially, coaches told their players to get down on the field before rushing off the field.

"You hate to see anything like that happen, but luckily it seems like no one was hurt," Miami Central head coach Ronald Smith said, following the incident. According to WSVN-TV in Miami, Fla., five people were taken into custody by the police.
