Champ Bailey Says Broncos Practice Squad Players Were Told to Let Tim Tebow Make Some Plays

No wonder Tebow had plenty of excellent practices.

From here on out, don't believe a player or head coach whenever they tell you practice went well. On Monday, former Denver Broncos defensive back Champ Bailey appeared on The Herd with Colin Cowherd. During their conversation, Cowherd asked Bailey to name one player who wasn't great in practice, but showed up every Sunday.

Without missing a beat and clearly hearing just the first part of the question, Champ went with Tim Tebow, the Broncos quarterback he saw up close and personal for two straight years. Then, Bailey added another piece of information we never saw coming. Well, maybe not.

No wonder he struggled during actual NFL games. Tebow was out here playing with a false sense of confidence, thinking his success against the scout team meant he was going to tear up the competition come Sunday. Going forward, just follow the words of the prophet A.I. when athletes discuss practice: "Practice? We're talking about practice."
