As part of his move to HBO, Bill Simmons is bringing his documentary-making acumen to the subscriber service. And it looks like the media personality has his first subject.

The New York Post's Richard Johnson is reporting that HBO will profile the late wrestling legend André the Giant thanks to Simmons. No debut date has been set as HBO has yet to release any details about the documentary.

Largely credited with starting up ESPN's popular 30 for 30 series, Simmons' deal with HBO was widely reported to include a consulting gig with HBO Sports documentaries.

André the Giant, born André René Roussimoff in 1946, stood 7-foot-4 and weighed over 500 pounds and started wrestling at age 17. He debuted with the then World Wrestling Federation in 1973 and become one of the organization's most popular figures during his tenure which lasted until the early 90s. Roussimoff died in his sleep at age 46 and was posthumously inducted into the WWF Hall of Fame in 1993. He was the inaugural inductee.
