The UCONN Huskies football squad has faced much pressure already to start this season. Since their head coach Bob Diaco tried to guarantee a perfect record for their 2015 campaign last month, most college football fans that know about the team's 2-10 record last year can understand why they needed the motivation.

When the Huskies faced the defending SEC East champion Missouri Tigers, the only thing that should have been guaranteed was that both teams would barely getting down the field . It was a slugfest— not in the sense of throwing hay-makers, nor helmets getting ripped off and heads bashed thereafter. Both teams moved like slugs inching down the field, as the Huskies only averaged 3.6 per play against Missouri's defense, and the Tigers only racking up 4.2 in that category.

Defensive games are fun for football purists to watch, but once  in awhile we need some highlights to make us happily cringe and go "Ooooooh!!' Check out Tyler Hunt trucking over this UCONN defenseman here:

HIT EM WITH IT! Tyler Hunt announces his presence with authority. No. 22 Missouri defeats UConn, 9-6. https://t.co/2rXCpi84Sn

The Tigers scored their only touchdown in the game by getting a Maty Mauk third-quarter run into the end zone on fourth-and-goal. Also, they got a safety on a first-half blocked punt to make it 9 points for them. The Huskies even had a chance to tie or win the game on its final drive with a field goal, but the Tigers didn't bite for UCONN's terrible attempt at a fake field goal rather than a 42-yard attempt. Check the debacle of a play here:

So much for being perfect, Bob.  Missouri's record is now 3-0, and UCONN's is now 2-1.
