Michael Jordan or LeBron James? Shaq Would Take Dr. J Over Both of Them

Shaq is making this debate even more confusing.

The Michael Jordan vs. LeBron James debate is getting old. Actually, scratch that. The MJ vs. LeBron debate has been old. But people looooooove talking about it for some reason, so last week, both MJ and LeBron chimed in on it once again.

During a promotional trip to Hong Kong this week, Shaquille O'Neal chimed in on it, too. He revealed that he thinks MJ would beat LeBron in a hypothetical 1-on-1 game between the two players.

"I think you have to go with a young Jordan every time," he said. "It would be an interesting game. Young LeBron was more like Magic Johnson. He was sort of like Magic with Jordan's abilities. He liked to pass, and he liked to get it up. But Mike was Mike. He was just special, like no one else. He always did things no one else could do, and things you couldn't compare to anyone else. So he was special and he'd win."

But Shaq also said that he doesn't think MJ or LeBron is the G.O.A.T. His vote for the greatest of all time debate goes to…

"I've seen young Mike and young LeBron and I must say Dr. J is still my favorite player," he said. "A lot of people today don't even mention his name, but to me, I still think he was the best."

So there you go. Rather than ending the debate, Shaq has just complicated things furthers. He also added another argument to the mix, just to show how silly this whole thing really is.

"These are questions we'll never know the answer to," he said. "It's a bit like if I met Bruce Lee in an alleyway. Who would win? You'll never know. Some people say, well, Bruce would kick Shaq's ass. Some people say, well, Shaq is two times bigger than Bruce Lee. It's a good question, a good conversation. But we'll never know."

Thanks, Shaq! That clears up…nothing.
