Alexis Sanchez just further enhanced his superhero status back in Chile.

The Arsenal and Chile star's hometown of Tocopila has been devastated by flooding, with 830 people forced to flee their homes and a state of emergency declared across many parts of Chile.

Moved by what's happening back home, Sanchez is doing what he can to help. According to Chile's La Tercera newspaper, Sanchez has sent two trucks of food, water and first aid supplies to the affected areas.

Sanchez's hometown is in a state of emergency.

The town's mayor, Fernando San Roman, spoke to the press to confirm Alexis' support:

"He hasn’t forgotten about his land and that’s why he wanted to be involved. He spoke to us in order to send aid to the people of Tocopilla. We initially discussed bottled water, some basic first-aid products and clothing among other things and it’s already in the region."

Sanchez's family back in Chile are helping to coordinate the support effort.
