Take a second and imagine how you would feel if your favorite team decided to restore the number worn and made famous by a legendary player(s) from the past. If the decision doesn't sit well with you, then you know exactly how Donovan McNabb feels upon hearing that his alma mater, Syracuse University, is going to bring the No. 44, made famous by running backs, Jim Brown, Floyd Little and Ernie Davis, out of retirement.

Interim athletic director Pete Sala stated that after receiving the blessing from Brown and Little, 'Cuse decided to restore the No. 44. A committee, which will include Little, will be put in place to determine who will be the next player to don the legendary number. While it appears that the university is trying to handle the situation as respectfully as possible, McNabb isn't happy about it.

And speaking of Ernie Davis, did SU get approval from anyone in his family? Once a number is retired, it should never be worn again. Plain and simple.
