Last month, Brittney Griner and her then-fiancée Glory Johnson—who both play in the WNBA—were arrested after they got into a physical altercation at Griner's home in Arizona. They were charged with assault and disorderly conduct and released a short time later. And despite the arrest, the two went forth with their plans to get married.
But the WNBA just revealed that it's not going to sweep the arrest under the rug. Because of the severity of the charges against the two women and because they want to send a strong message against domestic violence, the league just suspended Griner and Johnson for seven games each. They will serve their suspensions when the WNBA season tips off next month.
