Is Zlatan Ibrahimovic about to make a sensational move to Major League Soccer?

Probably not – but that's not going to stop people speculating after reports from Sweden claimed that the football superstar has applied for a "long-term" United States visa, which he would not require if he was visiting the country as a tourist.

Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet carried quotes from the U.S. Embassy in Paris, confirming that Zlatan had paid a visit to their offices. However, they were unable to confirm what his visit was related to.

Zlatan played with ex-MLS superstar David Beckham at PSG.

Zlatan is currently contracted to Paris Saint-Germain until the end of 2016 and in an interview earlier this season, the serial goalscorer admitted that the success of former team mates like Thierry Henry and David Beckham in MLS could tempt him to finish his career in the States:

"I will really think about it, I find the American challenge really interesting, because my friend Thierry Henry plays there and he's fantastic there.

He says good things about the MLS, so that could be interesting if the opportunity comes up again in two or three years."

If Robbie Keane can make it in MLS, we reckon Zlatan stands a good chance.
