WWE Spoilers: Everything You Can Expect From Tonight's Monday Night Raw

Monday Night Raw is tonight. Here's everything you can expect from the WWE on April 27.

After an altogether acceptable-yet-predictable Extreme Rules last night, Monday Night Raw rolls into Green Bay, Wisc. for the fallout. It’s probably going to be a terrible and plodding Raw like every other we—WHAT’S THAT?! IS THAT...BAH GAWD, THAT’S THE KING OF THE RING’S MUSIC.

  • Yes, in a shocking and completely unpromoted move, WWE is running a real, honest-to-goodness tournament over the next two nights, with the quarterfinals on Raw and the semis/final on the WWE Network on Tuesday night. This is, by far, the most exciting thing to happen in a summer lull period in YEARS. It’s so surprising that it wasn’t even considered for our “10 Things That Need to Happen in WWE This Summer” list. Who will be in the tournament? No idea. It’s possible that this will just be a mid-card wankfest, but WWE has a very talented roster right now so fingers crossed that it’ll at least deliver in the ring.

  • Despite having a golden opportunity last night by having him save his brother Bo, it looks like Bray Wyatt will appear on Raw tonight to start a feud with...Ryback. Hooray. At this point, Ryback is completely worthless (when has he not been?), and Bray’s wheezing promos are more of a joke than anything resembling fear. Beating the Big Guy will do nothing to make people forget that Bray has decisively lost both of the high-profile feuds he’s been a part of.

  • FREEEEE BIIIIIIIRD! After their wholly-entertaining win and (sort of) heel turn, the New Day will reportedly defend the WWE Tag Team titles under Freebird Rules, which means any combination of the three members can be in a title match. No word yet on whether there will be a rematch with Tyson Kidd and Cesaro (the UpperCats, in my eyes) tonight, due to the aforementioned KING OF THE RING TOURNAMENT OH MY.

  • There appear to be no plans to remove the Divas belt from Nikki Bella right now, which actually seems like a good call. The Fearless Champion, or whatever she’s calling herself, was getting some real face pops during Extreme Rules, and even though she won with twin help, riding that popularity for a bit seems reasonable. Naomi shouldn’t be the one beating her, at any rate.

  • Finally, the saddest news of all is that Daniel Bryan’s absence from Extreme Rules might be the beginning of another long-ish break from action. As of now, the word is that he will not be competing at Payback in May, which also probably suggests that he will have to vacate the Intercontinental Title. That could happen as early as tonight on Raw, but with the KING OF THE RING TOURNAMENT GOOD GAWD ALMIGHTY, they might hold that announcement until later weeks. The one thing that is sure is that Bryan needs time off yet again during the summer, and that is just the worst.
