Ipswich Town's highly rated defender Tyrone Mings is building a reputation as one of the nicest guys in football.

While most international prospects spent their formative years in the belly of a Premier League academy, 22-year-old Mings only turned professional in 2010 when he made a transfer from seventh tier team Chippenham Town to Championship side Ipswich for a paltry £10,000.

Three years on, it appears that Mings hasn't forgotten his roots.

Mings has used his newfound wealth to wipe away all of his mother's debts.

Mings uploaded the above screenshot to Instagram, presumably a conversation between he and his mother on WhatsApp. Mings' random act of kindness has increased his reputation amongst those ITK even more – he's already been linked with moves to Premier League giants Arsenal and Liverpool this summer.

This isn't even the first time that Tyrone Mings has gone the extra mile in the name of good will.

Last summer, after his squad number was changed at Ipswich Town, Mings offered to buy new shirts for fans who had already bought kits with Mings' old squad number on. This was four months after he had gifted two match tickets to a poverty stricken fan.

Tyrone Mings: the people's player.
