LeBron James' son LeBron James Jr. is only 10. But in recent months, he's shown that he can pass and shoot the basketball way better than most kids his age, which has led to him receiving multiple college scholarship offers. LeBron has gone on the record and said that he doesn't think college coaches should be allowed to contact his son. But in the world we live in today, college coaches have to do everything they can to recruit a kid as soon as that kid hits their radar—and it's clear that LeBron Jr. is on everyone's radar right now.
Despite all of this, Celtics forward Evan Turner isn't impressed with what he's seen from LeBron Jr. Er, well, we won't go that far. He's impressed with him, but he's not as impressed with LeBron Jr. as he is with Andre Iguodala's son Andre Iguodala Jr. So after last night's Cavaliers/Celtics game, Turner spoke with LeBron and talked some trash about his son for a few moments.
"I was talking to Iman Shumpert because we went to middle school together," Turner said later. "And then LeBron came over to me because I'm [a former Ohio State] Buckeye or whatever, and I told him I know a little guy who can beat his young guy. He asked me who and I said Andre Iguodala Jr…We just laughed about that."
Unlike LeBron Jr., there aren't any YouTube videos of Andre Jr. available. Yet. But Turner—who assured reporters that he and LeBron were just joking around (the Celtics might end up playing the Cavaliers in the first round of the NBA Playoffs, so...)—promises Andre Jr. is going to be one to watch in the future.
"He's pretty tall," he said. "He's going to be pretty good. He can actually shoot."
Turner did add that Andre Jr. "can't dribble to save his life," which would definitely hinder him in a game of 1-on-1 against LeBron Jr. if they played today. But at any rate, it sounds like the LeBron Jr. versus Andre Jr. matchup in the 2032 NBA Finals is going to be epic!
