After being cut by the Detroit Lions following the 2014 NFL season, Reggie Bush will be heading back to the west coast, where he played college ball, to join the San Francisco 49ers.

It's hard to fathom that Bush is 30 years old and will now be playing for his fourth NFL team in his career, but life comes at you fast in the NFL. After a somewhat up and down beginning in New Orleans, Bush reinvented himself as an every down back in Miami, something many thought he'd never be able to do coming out of USC, rushing for 1,086 yards in 2011. He continued to flourish after joining Detroit in 2013, posting another 1,000 yards rushing while racking up over 500 receiving yards until injuries caused him to miss five games the following season.

Bush joins a 49ers team transitioning from Frank Gore to Carlos Hyde as their new, young power running back, who Bush will no doubt spell on third downs. Whether or not the Hyde-Bush combo will come anywhere close to replacing Gore's production is up in the air, but it's a start.
