Unlike the rest of America, Iman Shumpert hasn't been watching the first season of Empire. In fact, Shumpert takes great umbrage to the show's characters and production. He claims that the show has stolen the likenesses of himself and girlfriend Teyana Taylor in the form of Hakeem and his on-screen girlfriend Tiana, the show's hot-and-cold star couple.

"They're using my girl's character, her style, her look and she's not getting anything for it," Shumpert said. It seems like he may be more annoyed for Teyana, because he added, "They didn't even change her name. They could have at least let my girl audition for the part instead of stealing her character completely."

That doesn't mean he's let Hakeem off the hook though: "And come on man, they're really using a guy with a flat top like me. Come on. That's ridiculous. They never called us. We were blindsided. We found out by our family and fans when the show aired," said Shumpert.

Are you as convinced as Shump is? He's got a hilarious, but perhaps purely coincidental point here.
