What's with all the strange sex-related scandals surrounding Michael Phelps lately?
Last year, a handful of tabloid magazines reported that Phelps' girlfriend at the time was allegedly born a man. It's still kind of unclear whether or not that particular rumor was true—Phelps has been dealing with more important issues lately—but it definitely left us scratching our heads, simply because it came out nowhere and took on a life of its own. And now, there's another bizarre rumor about Phelps floating around out there.
According to a plus-size dominatrix named Kim Petro who just sold her story to the National Enquirer, Phelps paid her $900 to pee on him back in February 2013. Petro, who passed a lie-detector test before the Enquirer paid her, claims she met Phelps after she posted an ad on Craigslist. She says that Phelps called her and used the name Fabian Marasciullo—a music producer who has worked with Flo Rida, T-Pain, and Lil Wayne—and asked her to meet him at the London Hotel in New York City. She also says that he asked her to drink a lot of water before she arrived.
"When he said drink some water before I get to the hotel, I knew what I was in for," she told the Enquirer. "I was going to go to the bathroom anyway—I figured I might as well get paid for it!"
Um, okay?
Petro also makes a bunch of other claims about Phelps in the Enquirer. For instance, she says that the Olympic swimmer was wearing women's underwear during their encounter and that he smoked weed in her presence. And for what it's worth, the Enquirer is reporting that they traced the cell phone number that was used to call Petro before the encounter back to Phelps.
But even with that in mind, are you buying her story? It seems too crazy for us to believe.
