According to USA TODAY, there was an increase in security for tonight's NCAA Tournament game between Maryland and Princeton after a threat was received in regards to the Tigers freshman forward and President Barack Obama's niece, Leslie Robinson. Prior to the second round contest at the XFINITY Center in College Park, Md., a woman left an eight-minute voicemail for the Maryland athletic department claiming that a man was driving around the campus with a Glock handgun in his possession.
Leslie, who is the daughter of Michelle Obama's brother Craig Robinson, was not informed of the threat. However, the Tigers head coach Courtney Banghart was made aware of the situation. As a precaution, undercover security officers were located near the Princeton bench while Secret Service agents were also in attendance for Supreme Court justices Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan. President Obama did not make it to tonight's game.
