When Paul George broke his leg back in August during a Team USA exhibition game, the thought was that he wouldn't be able to play at all during the 2014-15 NBA season. The injury that he suffered was horrific, so most Pacers fans prepared for the worst this season and assumed George wouldn't be back until next season.

But a short time ago, Indiana president of basketball operations Larry Bird revealed that he's hoping George can play for the Pacers before the end of the season. That doesn't mean that George will definitely be back. But according to Bird, George has been making improvements in practice and, if he's healthy enough to do it, the Pacers are going to allow him to get back out on the court before the end of the season, even if it means playing him during the playoffs.

"It seems like every week Paul is getting better and better," Bird told reporters. "I always say if a player is ready to play, they gotta play. We're not going to hold him back if he's able to go out there and play."

Bird added that he has "no clue on whether he'll play or not," but the fact that it's even being considered is a good sign for George and the Pacers.
