On Saturday, the Reno Bighorns defeated the Los Angeles D-Fenders, 174-169. The score alone should raise some eyebrows as the Bighorns were only one point away from tying the NBA D-League record for total points by one team in a game. Ironically, these same two teams squared off back on Dec. 20 and it was the D-Fenders who set the new high mark in a 175-152 victory over Reno.
Still, the Bighorns shouldn't feel like their offensive efforts went to waste because they still found themselves in the D-League record books, tying the record for three-pointers made with 28. However, tying the old mark came at a cost and that was setting a new record for three-pointers attempted in a game.
Before we reveal the final tally, let's tell you that the NBA record for three-pointers attempted in a game is 49. Are you ready to find out how many times the Bighorns chucked it from downtown? Okay, here it is: 61 times! Now that time J.R. Smith attempted 22 three-pointers in a game last year doesn't look so bad, huh?
