America's unbeaten heavyweight sensation Deontay Wilder has lined up Tyson Fury for a WBC world heavyweight title fight later this year.

Wilder won the title last weekend with a decisive victory over Bermane Stiverne and has already name checked Britain's best ranked heavyweight – Tyson Fury – as a potential opponent. Now, Frank Warren has revealed that negotiations between the two parties have already started and the fight could come as quickly as this summer.

Warren even said that a deal with Wilder could see Fury's next fight with Christian Hammer – scheduled for February 28th – called off:

"If we made that fight today I would pay Hammer off. I had a conversation last night with the Wilder's team but it is early days. They said they wanted it - they called it out. We would pay Hammer, give him another fight on the card and go straight to the Wilder fight, why take the risk?"

Deontay Wilder has a 96% knockout ratio.

Wilder has been billed as the saviour of American boxing with 32 knockouts from 33 fights and has been likened to Mike Tyson. He became the first U.S. heavyweight champion in almost a decade with his victory over Stiverne last weekend.

After the fight, he was quick to talk up similarities between him and Britain's heavyweight hope, Tyson Fury:

"I would love to fight Tyson Fury. I think he's doing a good job of what he's doing in boxing.

As far as being entertaining, I think he's ahead of his business in the UK in entertainment and I think I'm doing the same in America. And I think that is going to be a big clash down the road.

There's nothing like the big guys going at it. It's like a freak show, so I can't wait on that one. I can't wait for it."

Fury became the mandatory challenger for Wladimir Klitschko's WBO title with his latest win last year but the chances of that fight ever coming off remain slim.
