Rudy Gay Doesn't Respect Kendrick Perkins: "He's a Clown to Me"

Rudy Gay doesn't like Kendrick Perkins very much.

Back in November, Thunder center Kendrick Perkins got caught disrespecting the Kings and their 5-1 start to the 2014-15 NBA season. "These m************ are still the Sacramento Kings!" he told his teammates in a huddle just prior to a game against Sacramento. It's a comment that helped the Thunder go out and get a win against the Kings. But it's also something that seemingly stuck with Kings star Rudy Gay, who did not appreciate what Perkins had to say.

Over the weekend, Gay was asked about Perkins' comment in light of the fact that the Kings and Thunder are scheduled to play tomorrow night. And he didn't pull any punches when it came to responding to Perkins or sharing his true feelings on the Thunder reserve player.

"He might as well play with his face painted," Gay said. "He's a clown to me. You can quote that. He's a clown to me. He might as well play with his face painted."

Ouch. Perkins was then asked to respond to Gay's comments on Sunday, and he didn't pull any punches, either. While responding, he referenced the fact that Gay has played for several different teams in his NBA career without achieving much success.

"I'd rather be a clown than be a virus," he said. "At least if I paint my face, I can wash the paint off. A virus gets in your bloodstream. You can't get rid of that."

And just like that, we've got a war of words on our hands! We've also got a reason to tune into a random Thunder/Kings game on a Tuesday night in December. Keep an eye on these two out on the court tomorrow night.
