Mizzou Star Shane Ray Ejected From SEC Championship For Huge Hit on Alabama's Quarterback

Shane Ray was ejected from the SEC Championship after leveling Blake Sims with a huge hit

There weren't many who felt Missouri had much of a shot against Alabama in today's SEC Championship anyway, but after losing arguably their best player to an ejection, things are looking especially bleak.

After Bama quarterback Blake Sims let go of a deep ball early in the second quarter that would ultimately end up as a touchdown to DeAndrew White, he was rocked by Missouri linebacker and sack artist Shane Ray. Ray led with his helmet, hitting Sims in the facemask and sending him airborne. Ray was called for targeting, which is punishable by disqualification. The referees reviewed the hit and confirmed the call, and Ray was officially kicked out.

Trying to stop Alabama's three-headed monster of Blake Sims, T.J. Yeldon and Amari Cooper is difficult enough as it is. Losing a guy whose racked up 14.5 sacks this season is a huge blow.
