Good news, Arsenal fans: the prodigal son Thierry Henry wants to return home.

Thierry Henry is coming to the end of his time in Major League Soccer and while no official confirmation has been made, it's expected that he's set to depart the New York Red Bulls at the end of 2014.

Where does Thierry go next? He told L’Equipe his burning ambition is to go back to Arsenal:

"I have not taken any decision and speculation is not my thing. One thing is certain: I will stay in football, as a coach, a consultant or executive. We will see.

The second certainty is that I would love to see Arsenal win the Champions League. Whether that is from near or far does not depend on me but it is sure I'd like to help. This is my club and, as a player, I was not able to give them the Champions League."

Arsene Wenger has already said Thierry Henry has "all the qualities" to become a coach.

After the season he's had in the MLS, Thierry Henry could feasibly play for one more season. He scored 10 goals, made 18 assists and was named an MLS all-star for the fourth consecutive year.

Perhaps Arsenal fans would be a bit kinder to Arsene Wenger if Thierry Henry was on the sidelines with him.
