According to a report published Tuesday by England’s The Telegraph, Real Madrid and Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo has a rather vulgar nickname for Barcelona and Argentina talisman Lionel Messi. The report, which includes an excerpt from author Guillem Blague, details exactly what Ronaldo says about Messi when protected by the sanctity of the locker room. Or so CR7 thought.

“And that is why, according to some Real Madrid players, CR7 has a nickname for him: ‘motherf----r’; and if he sees someone from the club speaking to Leo, he also ends up being baptized ‘motherf----r,’ said Blague with regards to Ronaldo’s feelings towards Messi.

“And the Madrid players, with their less than subtle dressing-room sense of humour, have a long list of jokes that include Messi as Ronaldo’s dog or puppet, or kept in a designer handbag belonging to the Portuguese player. And much worse,” Blague continued.

Wow. Of course Ronaldo would keep Messi in a designer handbag and not some sack from the local thrift shop. Anyway, the La Liga adversaries are pretty much universally considered the best two players on the planet, and this tasty little tidbit just took their rivalry to the next level. At least as far as the public will be concerned. Handshakes on the pitch apparently don’t translate to niceties off of it.

Need more fireworks? Ronaldo’s Portugal will play Messi’s Argentina next week in an international friendly at Old Trafford, where Ronaldo spent several years with Manchester United. Something tells us this match will be anything but friendly.
