The NBA's opening night just took a horrible, horrible turn for the worse. In the fourth quarter of a game in which the Houston Rockets were blowing out the Los Angeles Lakers, rookie Julius Randle broke his leg and was taken off the court on a stretcher with an air cast. The injury was reported by Rachel Nichols. Randle, whom the Lakers selected in the first round this year with the 7th overall pick, had two points on 1/3 shooting in 14 minutes. The injury is not nearly as gruesome as Paul George's, but mind you, the Vine below is still terrible to watch. We'll update when we know more.
Lakers tell me Randle has a fractured tibia, they're transporting him to the hospital, where they'll determine if he needs surgery.
