Ronaldinho could play in the sixth tier of English football. No, really.

It's fair to say that Ronaldinho probably never dreamed of playing in the Conference South.

The transfer window may have shut but that won't stop Basingstoke Town from trying to make the surprise scoop of the season.

They've launched a bid to sign Brazil's living legend, Ronaldinho, for a swansong at the distinguished Soccer AM Arena.

According to the Basingstoke Gazette, the club from the sixth tier of English football has been speaking to Ronaldinho's brother, Roberto De Assis, who also acts as the player’s agent.

The club has offered the two-time world player of the year a playing contract, flights to England and accommodation.

The World Cup Winner, two-time FIFA World Player of the Year and human highlight reel was most recently linked with a mega money move to the Indian Super League.

Somebody call Jim White: transfer drama is back.
