Andrew Wiggins and Zach LaVine Are Going to Take Part in a Dunk Contest Later This Month

The Timberwolves are suddenly the team to watch when training camp opens on September 29.

Because they traded Kevin Love away late last month, the Timberwolves probably aren't going to have a very good team next season. But that doesn't mean that we won't be paying attention to them. They have Andrew Wiggins and Zach LaVine on their team, which means that there are going to be a lot of SportsCenter-worthy dunks getting thrown down over the next seven or eight months. And it's all going to start on September 29 when T'wolves training camp opens up.

Minnesota just announced that they are going to hold a "Dunks After Dark" event on September 29 to tip off training camp at Minnesota State University. It'll feature appearances by the entire T'wolves team, a scrimmage, and a dunk contest featuring Wiggins and LaVine showing off some of their best slams. And best of all? It's set to be broadcast on NBA TV, meaning we can all watch it go down.

A dunk contest featuring Andrew Wiggins and Zach LaVine? Yes, please. And thank you, T'wolves. The NBA preseason hasn't even started yet and you're already the real MVP in our eyes.
