With all the coverage of Johnny Manziel's offseason antics, it's nice to finally talk about him actually playing football. This afternoon Manziel played in his first intrasquad scrimmage for the Cleveland Browns and had mixed results. ESPN reports Johnny Football, playing with the second team, started off sloppy but had a strong finish, including a 16-play drive that only failed to yield a touchdown because of a dropped pass. Stat-wise, he (unofficially) went 3-7 for 14 yards and had two runs for another 14 yards.

"For me, it gets better every day," Manziel said. "That's really the story of my life right now. I have to get better. Learn the stuff, continue to get more and more familiar with every single play in our offense, and today helped."

Normally we wouldn't give a shit about near-touchdowns, but the thirst is real for football right now. We can't wait to see how Manziel does in his first preseason game, when he won't be protected and play unscripted like today.
