Out of the entire car-buying populous, there are of course fringe buyers – the people who buy the weird, somewhat-wonky cars that most of us wouldn’t look twice at. And at Nissan, those folks will have to drift a bit more mainstream.

That’s because, according to a new report from Automotive News, the boxy Cube and convertible Murano CrossCabriolet will disappear from the lineup come 2015.

The practical Cube sadly never caught on in the US, and over the first six months of the year has only sold 2,294 units. The CrossCabriolet nabbed positive reviews from owners – we’re guessing most of them are elderly women in California – but simply wasn’t a striking car from the get-go.
