Hybridization is the new big thing for hypercars, and Bugatti is jumping on that partially electrified bandwagon for its upcoming Veyron successor. Not only does it help with tightening emissions regulations, but the electric motors' low end torque and lack of a transmission means that the systems can fill in power in the spots where a gas engine might be at its weakest: shifting and low RPMs.

That's why the Veyron's 8.0L W16 engine will be joined by some electric motors which will all sing in chorus to the tune of 1,500 horsepower. Of course, we expect this to be the fastest production car in the world when it debuts
