Getting This Fire Truck Out of This Sinkhole Was Definitely Not Easy

Heavy rain in Poland caused a lot of sinkholes last week. One sinkhole in particular swallowed up part of a fire truck.

Over the last year or two, we've seen a ton of vehicles get stuck in sinkholes. And every time we see one either partially or fully inside of a sinkhole, we think, "Wow, that looks like it must have been a huge pain to get out." But the photo above pretty much tops all of those photos…and then some.

Last week, the southern part of Poland experienced some historic flooding. And as a result of the heavy rains that hit a handful of cities, sinkholes opened up on several different roadways. But this sinkhole in particular was notable because it managed to swallow up half of a fire truck. The back end of the truck plummeted into the sinkhole after the ground gave way and opened up. And…well, wow. That really looks like it must have been a pain to get out of the ground.
