Tesla is certainly taking-off in the US, so much so that boss Elon Musk has his sights set on developing EVs for Europe as well. The company already has a final assembly plant in the Netherlands, and now Musk has reportedly pegged the UK for a research and development facility.

According to Autocar, the site has yet to be determined, but Musk stated that his focus is on the Midlands, an area known for its British engineering talents. Given the region's history of Formula One development, he’d certainly have all the right neighbors close by.

The move would create hundreds of jobs in the area and focus on creating Euro-spec Tesla vehicles, however a full-scale production facility won’t be in the plans for the UK.
