Rolls-Royce Is Looking at 2017 For a Potential SUV Launch

The Royce SUV might arrive in 2017, but the famed British marque is treading carefully, and for good reason.

We spoken about the Rolls-Royce SUV project before. The company has axed several designs, and is only willing to make the car if it still feels like a proper Rolls-Royce. The design team is still “sketching to assess the viability of the concept" according to Royce design boss Giles Taylor, but the company is shooting for a 2017 launch if an acceptable concept is designed.

“I’m interested in function and functionality. I’m looking to create a properly functional vehicle – a shooting brake, not a crossover with a sloping roof. A proper SUV." We're happy it's not going to be some sort of gross ultra-luxe BMW X6.
