Renault is in the habit of being quick around the Nurburgring – that is until the latest Seat Leon Cupra came about. The Seat currently holds the ‘Ring’s fastest lap time for a front-wheel drive car at 7:58.4, but Renault is taking big steps to ensure the record is short-lived.
Teased in the video above, Renaultsport and Akrapovic seem to be throwing everything at their vaunted “#Under8” Mégane RS. The car can be seen testing on a four-wheel dyno, which is a bit interesting given that Renault’s previous record stands for front-wheel drive cars. But just listen to that exhaust pop. No word yet on when a record-setting attempt will be made.
