Renault’s newest limited-edition Nurburgring challenger has arrived and it’s got quite a long name. The Renault Megane RS 275 Trophy will take to the track on June 16 in an attempt to oust SEAT from atop the Nordschleife leaderboard.

It’s very much an evolution of the past RS model. The Megane Cup chassis has been fitted with Renault’s 2.0L turbocharged mill, with output eked out to 275hp and 265 lb-ft of torque. Akropovic lent a hand to boosting performance by adding a titanium exhaust system, complemented by the optional Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires (built especially for the car) and adjustable Ohlins springs and dampers.

Take a look at the pictures included and it’s safe to say that styling hasn’t been compromised. Inside and out it looks terrific, but the price for all this French limited edition hot-hatchery may surprise you – $64,000 (or £38,000). That’s more than it costs to own a 2014 Corvette Stingray. Yikes.
