We’re not automotive designers, but we assume that some shapes start out a bit more perfect than others. This seems to be one of those shapes.

BMW accompanies its Mini Superleggera Vision to the Concours d’Elegance at Villa d’Este with this striking sport bike – dubbed the Concept Roadster. It’s certainly a far cry from many of the aged and revered designs that typically show up to the event each year, but you surely won’t forget it.

The bike sports the firm’s 1170cc two-cylinder boxer engine, cranking out 123-horsepower and 92 lb-ft or torque. Sporting performance carries over to the Roadster’s chassis as well. The lightweight tubular space frame hugs the engine upfront before extending a cardan driveshaft and aluminum swing arm to the rear wheel. Accented in light blue, it’s an aesthetically pleasing thing to look at.

It’s unlikely that you’ll be able to pick up one of these bikes anytime soon though – it is only a concept. But if this is the current design strategy coming out of BMW, count us as being onboard.
