In the light of GM's ongoing recall scandal, and the congressional hearing that new CEO Mary Barra testified at, SNL decided to do its version of a faithful reenactment. Of course, nothing much was actually said at the real testimony, and the SNL version was similar enough.
The heart of the issue is that pre-bankruptcy GM is technically no longer in existence, and the new GM is a separate entity that is not liable for anything the old GM did, including not fixing an obvious problem that resulted in the deaths of a number of people.
We do think that Ms. Barra should sport a Henry-Waxman from time to time.
