UPDATE:

Police are now saying that the man that was found this morning is NOT Quinton Ross, the former NBA player. The deceased man's name is Quinton Ross. But police have said that the initial reports about the body belonging to Quinton Ross, the former NBA player, are incorrect.

Last Thursday, the family of 32-year-old Quinton Ross—a former NBA forward who played for the Clippers, Grizzlies, Mavericks, Wizards, and Nets between 2004 and 2011—called police and reported him missing. And early this morning, they were told about his tragic fate.

According to the New York Post, police found Ross' body buried in a shallow grave in Far Rockaway, N.Y. They haven't released many details about what may have happened prior to his death. But they did reveal that his body was stuffed into a garbage bag before he was buried. They are awaiting autopsy results to find out exactly how he died.

Several members of Ross' family have speculated and said that money may have been an issue for him in recent months. One of his aunts told the Post that her mother "saw these men chasing him" shortly before he went missing last week. But as of right now, police haven't made any arrests in connection to Ross' murder and are launching an investigation into it. Stay tuned for additional details.
