Once upon a time, Jaguar made an XJ coupe, and it was sexy and rakish, like all good Jaguars. The current XJ, however, has no coupe variant. Given the immenent death of the XK, and the new reign of the F-Type as Jag's sports car, the company is left without a grand tourer, which perfectly sets the stage for the return of the XJ Coupe.
That, after the XE sedan that will go up against the BMW 3-Series and its ilk, is exactly what Jaguar is planning, and we think it's perfect. The people who want a sports car can cop an F-Type, and the guys who just want to cruise in style can opt for the English alternative to the S-Class Coupe and the Maserati GranTurismo.
