This morning a tankerflipped over on Houston's Gulf Freeway and caught fire. As you can see in the photos, the road was absolutely scorched. The driver of the tanker died, but, despite three other vehicles being involved in the wreck, there were no other injuries or fatalities. All things considered, it could have been much worse.

The accident happened at 7:30 a.m. and shut down the northbound lanes for several hours. Those lanes have reopened, but other portions of the freeway are still closed. The cause of the accident has yet to be determined.
