Jonathan Martin Reportedly Turned Down the Opportunity to Return to the Dolphins Next Season

He's moving on.

Believe it or not, the Miami Dolphins are reportedly not finished with Jonathan Martin. Even though Martin caused a ton of turmoil within the Dolphins organization last year by alleging that he had been bullied by Richie Incognito and other members of the Dolphins, the team reportedly sat down with Martin's agents recently to try and work things out. According to CBS Sports, Dolphins new GM Dennis Hickey even asked Martin's agents if he would be willing to come back and play for the Dolphins next season.

As you might expect, Martin's agents didn't show a lot of interest in the idea of Martin returning to the Dolphins next season. In fact, they said that it would probably be best for everyone if Martin moved on to another team next season. But the fact that the Dolphins would even consider bringing Martin back adds an interesting dynamic to this story. Because theoretically, what would happen if Martin didn't get any other offers from NFL teams this offseason? Would he then be willing to return to a team that basically allowed him to be bullied by some of his teammates last season? Or would he quit the NFL rather than playing for Miami?

We'll probably never know the answers to those questions, because some other NFL team will likely roll the dice on Martin if he decides to return to the league. But how crazy would it be if he were to be back in Miami next season after everything that just happened?
