Very early Wednesday morning, a 10-year-old boy from Oslo, Norway decided that he wanted to take a trip to his grandparents' house. But his parents weren't awake yet, so he took it upon himself to load his 18-month-old sister into his parents' car. Then, he jumped behind the wheel of the car, turned it on, and started driving toward his grandparents' place.

As you would probably imagine, this was not a very good idea, and it didn't take very long for it to backfire. The boy did make it about 6 miles in the car without a problem. But then, he accidentally drove into a snowy ditch and couldn't figure out how to get the car out of it. And when a snowplow driver came along and found him, he managed to make things even worse by lying to him about his age.

"The boy told the snowplow driver that he was a dwarf," a local police spokesperson said, "and that he had forgotten his driver's license at home."

Fortunately, the snowplow driver didn't fall for his story, and he contacted police to let them know about the 10-year-old driver. The police contacted the boy's parents immediately, and his parents confirmed that it was, in fact, their son who was driving the car. And a short time later, the parents showed up to pick up their children.

The police decided not to press any charges against the boy or his parents. But we imagine that the parents filed some charges of their own against the boy once they got home. And we imagine that those charges mean the boy won't be watching TV, playing on the computer, or doing anything even remotely fun for a long, long, looooooong time.
