It's no secret that former NFL quarterback Vince Young has had his fair share of money issues over the course of last few years. Back in late 2012, a report came out that said that Young was broke because he had completely mismanaged his money during his time with the Tennessee Titans. According to the report, he frequently went to chain restaurants like the Cheesecake Factory and T.G.I. Friday's and racked up $6,000 tabs in single nights. Young tried to deny those accusations at the time, but…yeah. It became pretty clear that he had wasted most of the $25 million in guaranteed money that he made with the Titans.

It doesn't sound like his financial situation has gotten any better since then, either. So last week, Young reportedly filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in a Houston courtroom. His lawyer revealed that Young only has between $500,000 and $1 million in assets right now but has as much as $10 million in debt. So it appears as though Young is filing for bankruptcy in order to stop lenders from coming after what he has left.

If all of this is true—both Young's lawyer and Young were unavailable for comment when the Houston Chroniclereached out to them—Young has officially become another sad statistic in the NFL's history books. So many former NFL players go broke after leaving the game of football. And apparently, that even includes guys who, once upon a time, thought they could afford to spend six grand on watered-down drinks at T.G.I. Friday's in a single night. So sad.
