Now that all of the dust has settled surrounding the whole Richard Sherman/Michael Crabtree fiasco, the Seahawks cornerback has decided to apologize for his comments through a series of text messages sent to ESPN's Ed Werder. Here's what he had to say:

Seahawks CB @RSherman_25 tells me just now he regrets putting himself ahead of his team with postgame remarks: "I apologize for attacking ..
More @RSherman_25: "attacking an individual and taking the attention away from the fantastic game by my teammates. That was not my intent.''

While you gotta applaud him for stepping up and apologizing, but was it really necessary for Sherman to apologize for what he said? If so, is it coming too late? Sound off in the comments section.
