In 2005, the Volkswagen Auto Group's insane hypercar was finished and went on sale. It seemed like the Veyron broke every record there was all at the same time. It has been the focus of obsession ever since. During that time, Bugatti has sold all 300 coupes and 100 of the 150 planned roadsters.
The most recently sold 400th Veyron was the third Vitesse Jean-Pierre Wimille edition. Jean-Pierre Wimille was a racing driver who drove Bugattis in grand prix races in the '30s and was a member of the French resistance in WWII. He later went on to race for Alfa Romeo after the war, designed a few cars sold as Wimilles, and eventually died in a crash during a practice lap for the 1949 Buenos Aires Grand Prix.
So, to the rappers who read our mag, if you've been eyeing a Veyron for a while, move soon, because they're starting to run low on supply.
