The biggest two problems with the DeLorean were that it was in fact quite slow, and that it was built by a company funded almost entirely by cocaine sales. PRO TIP: That's not a good business model.
This DeLorean was purchased used by someone who probably didn't finance it entirely with cocaine, and the speed issue was also indeed fixed. It's powered by a twin-turbo Buick V8 that has been dynoed at a whopping 570 hp, and was once dynoed at 707 hp, but has since been detuned.
The ad promised that you can "hit 88 mph faster than you can say 'great Scott'" in this car. We promise that driving a DeLorean with a license place that says "V6 Buick" will confuse virtually everybody.
