On Tuesday, Martin J. Walsh narrowly defeated John R. Connolly with 51.55 percent of the vote to become the next mayor of Boston. Coming in third with 560 votes was David Ortiz. And yes, we're talking about the guy who hit .688 with two home runs and six RBIs to help lead the Red Sox to a victory in the 2013 World Series. While that amount of votes only accounts for 0.40 percent of the total, it's a pretty respectable number considering Big Papi wasn't even running for office.

Maybe this outcome will convince Ortiz to one day run for mayor of Boston. And if he does, there is no question that this needs to be his campaign slogan
