We've seen a production-ready concept of a convertible Toyota GT-86 (known here as the Scion FR-S), and we've been itching for this car ever since. It seemed like the perfect answer to the Mazda Miata, but we'll have to wait to drive it, and potentially forever.

That's right, Toyota has announced that the convertible GT-86/FR-S is indefinitely on hold, possibly due to weight issues regarding stiffening of the chassis needed. That said, should management decide to go ahead with the project, it could be "fast tracked."
