Marshall Henderson Will Be Suspended for Three Games During the Upcoming College Basketball Season

It's better than being suspended "indefinitely," right?

Back in July, Mississippisuspended their star guard Marshall Henderson "indefinitely" for a violation of their team rules. Ole Miss did not announce which team rules Henderson had broken. But reports that came out at the time indicated that he had had several run-ins with police over the course of the summer. Those reports also indicated that Henderson's career with the Rebels might be over.

However, Ole Miss has decided not to make Henderson's suspension permanent. Instead, they just announced that he will be forced to miss three games during the 2013-14 college basketball season as well as one preseason game prior to the start of the year. The three regular season games that he will miss will be the team's season opener against Troy on November 8 as well as their first two SEC games of the season against Auburn on January 9 and Mississippi State on January 11. Henderson thanked the school for their leniency in a statement released a short time ago.

"I want to thank [Ole Miss head coach Andy] Kennedy, [Ole Miss athletic director]Ross Bjork, and the university for giving me an opportunity to rejoin the team," he said. "This has been a difficult time for me, and I appreciate this chance."

This is probably definitely going to be the last chance that Henderson gets, though, so let's hope that he makes the most of it.
