We all entered the wrong profession, folks. We should've hit that speed bag and sparred a little more often and really dreamed of fighting at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Maybe then, we could've made that Floyd Mayweather type of money. In his first fight of 2013 against Robert Guerrero, Mayweather's purse was a guaranteed $32 million. A new record.
Four months later, Money is heading back into the ring and this time, he's going to absolutely trounce that previous amount.
Hang on to your hat. @LEllerbe & Richard Schaefer say that @FloydMayweather's purse for Canelo fight will be all-time record $41.5 million.
If you like the little facts, ESPN's Dan Rafael has another nice little gem.
If @FloydMayweather goes the distance with @caneloOficial he will make $1.153 million per minute. #boxing #theone
Damn. Just...damn. What more is there to say? Right now, Mayweather is known as "half a billion dollar man," but that may change to "billion dollar man" with the way his purses keep increasing.
