Back in April, BMW brought Andy Warhol's BMW M1 Art Car from 1979 to the Paris Photo arts festival in Los Angeles. The car was so well-received that it is having its encore showing on the East Coast at ARTcetera 2013, the biennial art auction held in Boston that supports the AIDS Action Committee.

The Art Car series began in 1975 and has featured 18 BMW cars designed by artists including Warhol, Alexander Calder, Jeff Koons, Frank Stella, Roy Lichtenstein, Cesar Manrique, David Hockney, and Ernst Fuchs. Warhol's car was the only M1 painted for the series and its blurred paint scheme was inspired by the speed of the race car. Its inclusion in the event celebrates Massachusetts BMW centers hosting ARTcetera for the first time. The fundraiser kicks off on October 5 at Park Plaza Castle in Boston, so make sure you head out to support the cause and to see this beautiful work of art.
